Impacto de la osteoartrosis de rodilla sobre la calidad de vida en pacientes de un hospital policial

Resumen

El objetivo fue determinar el impacto de la osteoartrosis (OA) de rodilla sobre la calidad de vida (CV) en adultos mayores. Se contó con una muestra de 154 pacientes diagnosticados con OA de rodilla, se empleó la escala de Kellgren–Lawrence para diagnosticar radiológicamente la OA de rodilla y el índice WOMAC para evaluar la CV en pacientes con esta patología. Para el análisis bivariado, se aplicó la prueba d de Somers. Para el análisis multivariado se utilizó un modelo de regresión de Poisson con razón de prevalencia ajustada (RPA). La significancia estadística fue p<0.05. Entre los resultados, la prevalencia de OA de rodilla fue leve en 20.1%, moderada en 53.2% y severa en 26.6%. La prevalencia de la CV fue buena en 38.3%, regular en 51.3% y pobre en 10.4%. Solo la OA de rodilla severa impactó significativamente sobre la CV (p = 0.021), presentando 48% menos probabilidad de tener buena CV que los que tenían OA de rodilla leve (RPA = 0.52, IC 95%: 0.29 – 0.91). Las mujeres tuvieron 45% menor probabilidad de presentar buena CV comparado con hombres (RPA = 0.55, IC 95%: 0.37 – 0.80). Concluyendo que la OA de rodilla severa impactó de forma significativa sobre la CV de pacientes adultos mayores, presentando las mujeres menor probabilidad de buena CV.
