Abstract

The aim was to analyze the factors that predict gender-based violence through a systematic review of the literature between 2020 and 2025. A literature review was conducted, including 15 articles selected through a bibliographic search in three databases: Scopus, PubMed, and EBSCO. Eligibility criteria included publication periodicity, language, open access, and availability of full-text documents. The results indicate that variables associated with gender-based violence include self-esteem, parenting styles, conflict resolution, and communication within partner relationships. Among the variables predicting gender-based violence are adverse childhood experiences, economic dependence, level of professional development, quality of educational institutions, and countries of origin. The practical implications of the findings for the development of policies aimed at promoting symmetrical coexistence among university students, guaranteeing fundamental rights for women, are highlighted.
