Resumen

Los materiales de construcción como los bloques de hormigón y el ladrillo de arcilla cocida son muy costosos y en algunas circunstancias generan un efecto perjudicial en el medio ambiente. Pese a que existe un sin número de experiencias y estudios para mejorar la durabilidad de los ladrillos estos no han sido difundidos suficientemente. Una de las alternativas es el ladrillo de tierra comprimido estabilizado, como material sostenible que utiliza suelos disponibles localmente, combinados con estabilizadores para mejorar su resistencia. Asimismo, el desarrollo de construcción de estos ladrillos es en situ y requiere mano de obra menos calificada.
