Open access policy
Cátedra Villarreal Posgrado (RCVP) is an open access journal. It publishes original and unpublished articles, available for free consultation from its first issue. Under this principle, it fosters a greater exchange of knowledge among academic communities and general readers. This policy allows consulting, reading, copying, printing, downloading, distributing, or linking to the full texts of articles, processing them as data for software, or using them for any other lawful purpose. This policy is framed within the open access definition established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Creative Commons (CC) License
All articles accepted and published in Cátedra Villarreal Posgrado are freely distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), which allows third parties to use the published work as long as authorship is credited.
You are allowed to:
- Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material.
The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you comply with the license terms.
Under the following conditions:
- Attribution: You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
- Non-Commercial: You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
- Share Alike: If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
- No additional restrictions: You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
Copyright policy
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. They are allowed to distribute, adapt, and build upon their work, even for commercial purposes, provided the original authorship is acknowledged.
Authors may also establish other independent, additional contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version published in this journal, provided that they clearly indicate that the work was first published in this journal.
Digital preservation policy
RCVP maintains an archiving system through Open Journal Systems (OJS) that ensures the digital preservation of its content.
- Each article and issue is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) managed by Crossref, ensuring identification and preventing issues caused by URL changes.
- The journal is indexed in The Keepers, an international system that monitors the preservation of serial electronic publications.
Archived issues can be consulted in the editorial manifest of LOCKSS and CLOCKSS.
Plagiarism policy
RCVP uses Turnitin to detect plagiarism. Articles must be at least 70% original in relation to the field of knowledge, regardless of properly referenced citations.
- If plagiarism is detected, sanctions may range from a warning to rejection of the article and notification to the authors’ institution.
Authorship policy
- A maximum of four authors per manuscript is suggested, except in research requiring more participants, which must be duly justified and documented.
- A maximum of two authors is suggested for articles derived from theses for academic degree purposes.
- Only those who made a significant contribution to the conception, design, analysis, writing, or critical revision of the work, as well as approval of the final version, will be recognized as authors.
- Technical support, style editing, or assistance with statistical analysis will be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments
- The journal does not accept practices of honorary authorship or ghost authorship.
- The CRediT Taxonomy is used, which classifies author contributions into 14 specific roles.
Corrections and retractions policy
Authors may request changes via email at revista.eupg@unfv.edu.pe, subject to validation by the Editorial Committee.
Articles may be retracted for honest errors, misconduct, duplication, plagiarism, or unethical research. In such cases, a retraction note will be published and linked to the article.
Misconduct reporting
In cases of suspected misconduct, RCVP will follow the COPE guidelines, contacting the authors or relevant institutions. Reports may be submitted to revista.eupg@unfv.edu.pe, with an initial response provided within a maximum of 7 days.
Appeals and complaints
Editorial decisions may be appealed in accordance with COPE recommendations. Complaints must be sent to revista.eupg@unfv.edu.pe.
Conflict of interest policy
Authors must declare any funding, support, or commercial interest related to the article. If none exist, they must include the following statements:
- “The authors did not receive any sponsorship for the conduct of this study.”
- “There is no conflict of interest related to the subject of this work.”
When conflicts exist, they must be declared in the manuscript, and the statement must be submitted according to the ICMJE guidelines.
Policy on research involving humans and animals
- Studies involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki.
- Research involving animals or clinical trials requires approval from an ethics committee.
- Consents and authorizations must be reported in the Methods
Use of Large Language Models (LLM)
RCVP does not restrict the use of Large Language Models (LLM), such as ChatGPT, and adheres to the recommendations issued by the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
It is important to note that LLMs do not meet the authorship criteria established by the ICMJE. Therefore, if authors use any of these tools, they must declare it in the Methods section.
Moreover, the use of LLMs does not exempt authors from responsibility for the accuracy and reliability of the content.
Advertising policy
RCVP is funded solely by the Escuela de Posgrado and the Vicerrectorado de Investigación of Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal. No advertising from public or private companies is included on the journal’s website.
