Abstract

The objective was to analyze one of the central aspects of the pre-Hispanic Andean spellings as sign supports of information of the Peruvian culture, little studied in the discourses of the Andean culture, its graphic signs the chacana, chavín and manto (pununas) are the most representative which remain to this day 2022. A typological matrix from the science of signs was used to analyze the lines of the geometric figures and a documentary analysis to visualize the textual capacity. The sample was made up of pre-Hispanic Andean figures that are related to the communicative practices of the ancient men of Peru. Unit of analysis were the Chavín stele, the Andean chacana and the geometric figures of Huancabamba (the pununas). The sources and documentaries of the iconography and figures that form the communicative events were studied. It was found that the chacana represented the reciprocity and complementarity of the Andean subjects of the Piura mountain range and the approach to the great problems about signs in the representative cultures of Peru. In the identity of the Andean communities of Piura they are still living elements and present in daily activities.
