Detección y cuantificación del promotor 35S en productos alimenticios de maíz mediante PCR en tiempo real en Lima, Perú

Resumen

Es significativa la escasa información confiable sobre los productos alimenticios de consumo masivo que contienen componentes transgénicos y sobre la cantidad de copias de ADN transgénico presente en cada uno; por lo que el objetivo de la investigación fue detectar y cuantificar la secuencia del Promotor 35S y demostrar la eficiencia y practicidad del método Reacción en cadena de la polimerasa en tiempo real (Real-Time PCR), en productos alimenticios de maíz que se comercializan en la ciudad de Lima. Se analizaron molecularmente 50 muestras de productos alimenticios de maíz de consumo masivo en el
2019. Para la extracción del ADN se utilizó el kit DNeasy mericon Food, para la detección del P35S el método Real-Time PCR empleando el kit mericon Screen 35S y para la cuantificación de copias el kit mericon QUANT MON 810. Se encontró que el 62% de las muestras analizadas contienen copias de la secuencia del P35S, el 32,26% corresponde a productos elaborados en el extranjero; la muestra con mayor concentración de copias es la de hojuelas
de maíz con 4,12E+4 copias/g de muestra y las que tienen menor, son las de harina de maíz y maíz pop corn con 5,0E+2 copias/g. Se concluye: en Lima - Perú es elevada la comercialización e ingesta de productos alimenticios de maíz y que la Real-Time PCR es un método eficiente y práctico para detectar y cuantificar la secuencia del Promotor 35S en productos alimenticios de maíz.
