The peer-reviewed and indexed journal Neotropical Helminthology, with ISSN 2218-6425 (print version) and ISSN 1995-1043 (electronic version), is a biannual print and electronic publication. It undergoes external peer review and is published by the School of Biology at the Federico Villarreal National University (EPB – CCNM - UNFV). The journal is published bimonthly in PDF format during two periods: January–June and July–December. Neotropical Helminthology (Neotrop Helminthol) aims to publish scientific research on all aspects of helminths, primarily those of the Neotropical fauna of humans and animals, but not exclusively from this geographic region. Research includes plant nematodes, annelids, pentastomids, nematomorphs, leeches, temnocephalians, mesozoans, and even acoelomates and pseudocoelomates. It also features contributions on protozoa and arthropods of medical and veterinary importance. It contains the following sections: Editorial, Letters to the Editor, Original Article, Review Article, Commentary, Scientific Note, and Obituary. Research contributions may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and are rigorously peer-reviewed (double-blind). The journal primarily features basic and applied research on biological topics, with a particular focus on Neotropical subjects. This journal is academically sponsored by the Peruvian Association of Helminthology and Related Invertebrates (APHIA).
