Abstract

The care and protection of the environment is an urgent problem to be solved from the school environment. For this reason, the objective of the research was to analyze and interpret the results of the diagnosis applied to a group of students in the teaching-learning process of Physics, in the Medium Technician of Physical Planning career, at the Industrial Polytechnic Institute "Lázaro Cárdenas Del Río" in the municipality of Santa Clara, province of Villa Clara, Cuba. For the development of the research, different methods of information collection and processing of the information collected in their dialectical interrelation were used, such as surveys and interviews. The sample was made up of 20 students who constitute the enrollment of group 1 of the Medium Technician of Physical Planning career at the Institute mentioned above and four teachers. It was found that students have not reached the levels required to achieve the care and protection of the environment, due to the fact that in the educational practice there are deficiencies, among which stand out the lack of knowledge of environmental problems and their relation with the career they are studying. These results made it possible to plan actions that guaranteed a solution to the problem detected
