New records of species of the superfamily conoidea (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Neogastropoda) in the peruvian sea

Abstract

For the first time, 15 species of the superfamily Conoidea are recorded in Peruvian waters, distributed in six of the 16 families that currently constitute this superfamily: Clathurellidae (1 genus, 1 species), Drilliidae (4 genera, 5 species), Horaiclavidae (1 genus, 1 species), Mangeliidae (4 genera, 4 species), Pseudomelatonidae (1 genus, 1 species) y Raphitomidae (3 genera, 3 species). The new records are: Glyphostoma candidum (Hind, 1843) (Clathurellidae); Agladrillia gorgonensis McLean & Poorman, 1971, Brephodrillia ella Pilsbry & Lowe, 1932, B. perfecta Pilsbry & Lowe, 1932, Cerodrillia cybele (Pilsbry & Lowe, 1932) y Kylix contracta McLean & Poorman, 1971 (Drilliidae); Buchema granulosa (Sowerby I, 1834) (Horaiclavidae); Ithycythara penelope (Dall, 1919), Kurtzia aethra (Dall, 1919), Kurtziella plumbea (Hinds, 1843), Kurtzina cyrene (Dall, 1919) (Mangeliidae); Maesiella hermanita (Pilsbry & Lowe, 1932) (Pseudomelatonidae); Daphnella retusa McLean & Poorman, 1971, Kermia informa McLean & Poorman, 1971 y Philbertia doris Dall, 1919 (Raphitomidae). Data on its taxonomy, geographical and bathymetric distribution and habitat are provided.
