Abstract

The aim of this research was to design and build the prototype of medium-range rocket, mounted on a mobile launch ramp for the production of artificial rains and also to prevent the fall of hail in certain areas of Peru in times of drought. Rockets were designed, built, tested and launched to produce artificial rain using silver iodide. The efficacy of a prototype with a 3-inch nominal diameter (maximum height 4,000 meters) and another with a 4-inch nominal diameter (maximum height 5,500 meters) was validated, considering that most of the clouds are between 2 and 5 km above the land surface. The 3-inch rocket was selected for its economic, technical and operational viability. With solid propellant rocket motors, designed and placing a small payload of silver iodide (250 to 300 grams), certain types of clouds can be "bombed" by precipitating "artificial rains", thus avoiding the fall of hail and the Lack of rain in some regions of the country. Importance of research on national defense issues linked to climate change and the country's food security, to solve different drought problems that benefit the inhabitants of Peru. The population areas of the world that suffer from drought, forest fires, etc.
