Gnoseología entre el tamaño cerebral y la bioacumulación de metales pesados en Gambusia punctata (Poey, 1854)

Resumen

El propósito del estudio fue describir la gnoseología entre el tamaño cerebral y la bioacumulación de metales en la Gambusia punctata (Poey, 1854). En septiembre de 2022 se realizó un muestreo en la parte baja del río Almendares, La Habana, Cuba: latitud / 23°06’4.92”; longitud / 82°24’30.41”, donde 37 individuos (26 hembras y 11 machos) se capturaron para la determinación del tamaño cerebral y la bioacumulación de plomo (Pb) y cadmio (Cd). La prueba estadística t-Student indicó, que no hubo diferencias significativas (p = 0,44) entre los machos y las hembras, según el tamaño cerebral (1,57±0,09 y 1,59±0,08 mm). La bioacumulación de Pb fue: macho = 0,084±0,014; hembra 0,097±0,022 y para el Cd correspondió a: macho = 0,085 ± 0,014; hembra 0.108 ± 0,027). El análisis de regresión lineal múltiple entre el tamaño cerebral y la bioacumulación de los metales pesados indicó, valor p = 0,90 (machos) y valor p = 0,35 (hembras). Se concluyó, que hubo bioacumulación de Pb y Cd en el cerebro de los individuos de la especie G. punctata. La bioacumulación al Pb fue similar en ambos sexos, aunque existió mayor bioacumulación al Cd en las hembras. Sin embargo, la bioacumulación del Pb y Cd no se relacionaron de modo perjudicial con el tamaño cerebral.
