Abstract

The aim of the study was to describe the axiology based on experience using the larval bioregulator Gambusia punctata (Poey, 1854) during the period 2011-2021. The practical value in the G. punctata species was analyzed from scientific communications. The search words corresponded to: environmental contamination, biomarkers, larval control, and G. punctata. 25 scientific publications were registered in which 40% made reference to information on contamination by heavy metals and 60% indicated the use of biomarkers. The liver, gills and brain were the target organs par excellence. It is concluded that the experience with the larval bioregulator G. punctata was based from the axiological point of view on the condition as an environmental bioindicator.
