Leí el artículo de Fernando Torres-Salazar1: “Cobertura de aseguramiento en salud y gasto de bolsillo en la pandemia
COVID-19. Callao-2021” donde se realiza un interesante análisis sobre la relación entre la cobertura en salud y el gasto
total durante la pandemia COVID-19 en habitantes del Callao. Me gustaría complementar lo señalado en el método
respecto al diseño de investigación, precisando que corresponde al tipo correlacional-causal.
Es importante señalar que, con el propósito de cumplir con el objetivo del estudio, el investigador debe seleccionar o
planteamiento del problema y los alcances de la investigación los que determinan qué diseño es el más apropiado para un
estudio en concreto; asimismo, es posible utilizar más de un diseño. (Hernández et al., 2014, pp. 126-127)
La investigación no experimental es apropiada para variables que no se pueden controlar, alterar de manera
deliberada o su manipulación sea éticamente incorrecto.
“El estudio observacional (no experimental) y transversal tiene como propósito describir variables y analizar su
incidencia e interrelación en un momento dado. Es como “tomar una fotografía” de algo que sucede. Se subdivide en
exploratorio, descriptivos y correlacional-causal” (Hernández et al., 2014, pp. 154-155).
“El diseño transaccional correlacional-causal describe relaciones entre dos o más categorías, conceptos o variables
efecto (causales)” (Hernández et al., 2014, p. 157).
Por lo expuesto y en concordancia con la conclusión del artículo que determina: “se halló que la cobertura de
precisar que el diseño de investigación asociado al objetivo y conclusión presentados son del tipo correlacional-causal
y así complementar lo declarado en el subtítulo Método “se realizó un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, observacional y
el mismo.
